Breast Cancer Research Discussion Paper

The early breast cancer screening project has two primary goals: to lower the mortality and morbidity rates of a community via early diagnosis and early treatment and to limit the occurrence of breast cancer through the identification and treatment of its causes (Ginsburg et al., 2020). The necessity to find an efficient and evidence-based method for early breast cancer detection that is adapted to the needs of women living in underserved communities in Houston, Texas, is one of the primary considerations that went into the development of the plan to implement such a project. Because the majority of women, and particularly women who are illiterate, do not have access to the knowledge on the causes and consequences of breast cancer, this project will help in the promotion of breast cancer awareness and screening. Mammograms will be the particular item that will be used for breast cancer screening. This is because mammography has been recommended for many decades, and most women of childbearing age in the United States engage in such screening activities (Qin et al., 2017). The mammograms will be made available to the community through the use of mobile mammography units. The intention is to have a medical team consisting of ten professionals who will go to various locations in order to raise awareness about breast cancer and deliver breast cancer screenings to those who live in places where there is little information available about breast cancer. Conclusively, mammography is still the primary method that is used to screen for breast cancer. Mammography is not anticipated to be supplanted by other screening methods any time soon for the purpose of screening the general population.
