Using this statement:

Organ donations is a health care activity that has traditionally been based on the feelings of human altruism and solidarity. In fact, this activity has typically been associated with the catchphrase “gift a life, donate organs”. However, the reality is that organ donations are far less than the need with the result that demand exceeds supply so that some of the persons who need organs have their conditions worsening and could even die. This occurs in the face of healthy potential organs being available and who are not motivated to donate because they lack adequate feelings human altruism and solidarity. The current organ donation environment has seen most of the donors being persons who are emotionally related to the patients so that they are pressured to make a donation as a conscientious decision (Tsoulfas, 2018). Organ Donation is a Pivotal Medical Activity/Service .Medical studies have identified cadavers as potential solutions to the shortage, yet this option has received negative social reviews as a result of mistrust about the cause of death and religious doubts. In addition, resistance to ‘plundering’ the body of a loved one and self-interest make cadaver donations difficult. Given this awareness, the question then becomes whether or not organ donation should continue presenting the traditional catchphrase or if there is a need for a new catchphrase. Essentially, supplying adequate numbers of organs to meet the existing demand will be reliant on personal motivations and decisions. The implication is that there is a need to dismantle the existing barriers to organ donations through modifying the current messages so that potential donors are motivated to make donations (Asano et al., 2014). Therefore, the main factor in solving the problem of inadequate organ donations relies on building a favorable public opinion and support for the activity

Revision

Organ donation is a pivotal medical activity/service in the USA that has been supported by both the public and religious movements. In fact, donated organs are used across the country to not only save lives, but also improve the health and life of the recipients. The activity targets the intestines, kidneys, pancreas, liver, lungs, and heart. Despite more than 156 million people registering as organ donors, there are more than 113,000 people who are on the national organ transplant waiting list. Approximately, 36,528 organ transplant operations were performed in 2018. The high number of registered organ donors is an indication that the activity has much public support. To be more precise, 95% of adults in the USA support organ donation, with 58% of adult signed up as organ donors (Health Resources and Services Administration, 2019). In addition to public support, organ donation receives much support from religious organizations.Organ Donation is a Pivotal Medical Activity/Service . Firstly, Pope John Paul II expressed support for organ donation, stating that it is an act of love and charity, and that the Catholic Church considers transplants as ethically and morally acceptable. Secondly, the Disciples of Christ ministry encourages its members to act as donors and support recipients through prayer. Thirdly, the Episcopal ministry encourages its members to seriously consider acting as donors after death. Fourthly, the Evangelical Covenant Church recommends that topics on organ donation be discussed before congregations as a policy. Fifthly, the Islamic religion encourages organ donation to the extent that it protects human dignity, arguing that it conforms to Sharee'ah guidelines in achieving all that is good in the best interest of selflessness, compassion and cooperation. Other than the discussed religious movements, other religions have expressed a supportive attitude towards organ donation activation and encourage their members to make personal decisions concerning the topic (Donate Life California, 2020). However, the Gypsy (Roma) religious movement has expressed strong opposition to the activity. Although not a formalized religion, Gypsies believe that the soul wonders for one year after death before retracing its steps back to the body. As such, the body must remain intact even in death (Donate Life California, 2020). As a result, it can be concluded that organ donation is widely accepted in the USA, and is encouraged by different religions except for the Gypsies.Organ Donation is a Pivotal Medical Activity/Service .
